:: causes of acne
There may be more than a few
causes of acne
If you are trying to figure out why
you breakout, there may be a few reasons. One of the first factors that
plays a large role in the causes of acne is hormones. That is why often
in the teen years, it can be a bigger problem than later in life. The
hormones are going through so many changes during those years. The
hormones are converted in the skin to dihydrotestosterone which
stimulates oil glands to enlarge, which produce sebum. The more sebum,
the more likely you will have troubles with this. Adults can still
struggle with it though. The causes of acne in adulthood may me somewhat
different though.
It is believed that there are other
things to blame for being the causes of acne as well. Possibly genetic
factors and environmental as well. This may be cosmetics, certain
moisturizers, and foundations too. The other thing that seems to be in
somewhat of a controversy is diet. It is believed that if you drink at
least 6 – 8 glasses of water a day, you will increase your body’s system
function properly. It is also said that there are certain foods to stay
away from like milk, cheese, high fat meats and nuts.
The other factor to look at is
stress. Is stress actually one of the causes of acne? No, probably not,
but it does stimulate our body enzyme and immune systems, which in turn
causes a stimulation of the oil glands. It has been proven that the
lower your stress, the better off you are. You can implement a few of
these basic changes along with a product to help control it. Once it is
under control, it is much easier to get rid of it altogether.
