What to do with unsightly
body acne
In some cases, like facial pimples, we
can also get body acne, which often will occur on the chest, back and
buttocks. There are things like stress, hormones and other factors that
all together may play a role in body acne.
One of the other things that might be
a culprit as well is the perspiration and type of clothing that is worn
over that area, specifically tight fitting items. This may be why often
the physically active women have body acne. Spandex is a tight fitting
cloth that traps in perspiration against the skin. This, mixed with the
surface oil can result in clogged pores and eventually cause blemishes.
The pimples may range from a whitehead to inflamed pustules, both of
which are not something you want.
Generally you would treat body acne
the same way that you would treat facial acne. It is a bit more
difficult to treat partially because it is harder to reach and the
clothes will often be rubbing on it day in, day out. The skin is also
thicker than on your face. You can use a daily wash that has salicylic
acid cleanser in it. Many of the products, whether they are a one step
system, but most are a 3 step system, can also be used on the body. Do
take extra care to keep lose clothing on that area and shower as soon as
you can after perspiring. You should start to see results within about a
week once you are into your routine.
