Find out more on acne and how
to prevent it
When there is an imbalance of a few
factors in your skin’s physiology relating to the sebaceous gland and
duct system, acne is the result. Small amounts of oil, called sebum, are
produced in these glands when our body is working properly. These glands
share a duct that goes to the skin with a small hair. When too much oil
is made or blockage occurs in the duct, preventing the escape of oil, the
result is acne.
One of the most common causes is an
increased production of sebaceous material due to hormone imbalance, skin
bacteria, or side effects of stress. To lead a balanced lifestyle to
help eliminate any stress is a good first step to take to help your acne
situation. With the hormone imbalance, often this is a temporary
situation. You can ask your physician more about this on your next
visit, but often it goes away with time.
