What are your options for acne scar treatment?

Most dermatologists agree that picking at blemishes and even if you don’t, there are times when a scar will occur on a chronic acne pustule that has a delayed healing process.  The best acne scar treatment of course would be to prevent them in the first place.  That is not always possible though.  If it persists for a few weeks it may become infected and then the area cannot heal because fluid is being trapped under the skin.  Acne scar treatment once the scar has already occurred has less success rate, but is still possible.

The best recommendation is to use a control product so that you can offset the early stages, which will prevent the formation of the fluid pockets.  This is the best way to prevent any permanent scarring from the pustules.  Also, as tough as it is, do not pick or squeeze.

You can also get products at skin care stores that have been designed specifically to treat scars.  Typically what they do is diminish the discoloration, thickness and nature of it.  In some cases, they may also be used to reduce the appearance of stretch marks and other types of tissue damage.  These acne scar treatment options are generally not very expensive and are worth it.  They are typically found under Scar Treatments rather than in with the acne products.  You will want to choose one according to the formulation so read each of them carefully to see which will suit you the best.
